- Abstract
The author discusses recent events in the U.S. and Canadian entertainment industries as of June 1999 and introduces a new contributing writer. He confesses that he fell victim to the April Fool joke regarding Walt Disney becoming a corporate partner of the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. (CBC), because his cynicism led him to believe that such could happen. He also states that Steve Fruitman, host of The Great North Wind radio program on CIUT-FM in Toronto, Ontario, will contribute a column for the publication called "Islands in the Sand."
