- Abstract
The article presents an analysis of the motet "Andreas Christi famulus," composed by Toledo, Spain chapel master Cristóbal de Morales during the 16th century. The author describes the uplifting nature of Morales' music which is immediately noticeable and corresponds closely with the text which emphasizes the joyful aspect of the martyrdom of Saint Andrews. It examines how the motet follows many general trends of mid-16th century international style.
