Neglecting the elderly?
- Authors
Sims, Beccy
- Abstract
The article focuses on a report by three public sector watchdogs that the health-care system of England is failing the elderly population of the country. The healthcare system was accused of treating older people with a lack of dignity and respect, stating that deep-rooted cultural attitudes to aging were hampering wider government plans to improve services for older people. The report Living Well in Later Life was produced by the Audit Commission and the Healthcare Commission.
