- Abstract
The article presents a systematic review of research literature on African Americans' preferences for end-of-life (EOL) healthcare preferences. Topics discussed include African American culture, patterns of hospice usage and preferences for so-called life-saving therapies (LSTs). The implications of African American's EOL healthcare preferences for the science of caring and nursing practice are also examined.
