- Authors
Dunlap, Joanna C.; Furtak, Thomas E.; Tucker, Susan A.
- Abstract
The article focuses on Physics 100 Online, an online version of the calculus-based introductory course for students in science and engineering degree programs modeled after the studio teaching method. It notes that beneficial classroom practices were adapted to Physics 100 Online in joint collaboration between the physics department at the Colorado School of Mines and the instructional technology program at the University of Colorado in Denver through the support of a federally funded USDE FIPSE grant. It examines different course design and instructional approaches from classroom to online education, and the students' changes in conceptual learning.
