Abstract
The article discusses the possible addition of arts content to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) curricula in the U.S. Emphasis is given to work conducted by the U.S. Department of Education and the National Science Foundation (NSF) researching incorporation of arts into STEM pedagogy. The author notes that the impact of arts-STEM (STEAM) on student learning has yet to be assessed.
