- Abstract
The article reports on a research program for secondary science teachers that are beneficial to their students in New York City. It states the program as the Columbia University's Summer Research Program for Secondary School Science Teachers (CUSRP) wherein middle and high school science teachers work on research projects for two successive summers with the guidance of faculty mentors of the university. It notes that the program was founded by director at Columbia University Samuel C. Silverstein and is funded by the National Science Foundation, in part. Furthermore, teachers work in all scientific disciplines including physics, astronomy and Earth sciences which are represented at the university.
