- Abstract
A literary criticism of the novel "The Grapes of Wrath," by John Steinbeck, is presented. Topics include the critique of advertising in the novel, the relation of advertising to the development of mass media in the U.S., and the portrayal of a migrant family in the novel in relation to the impact of advertising on U.S. culture. The work of historian Juliann Sivulka is addressed.
