- Title
Increasing Entry of the Elderly into Cancer Clinical Trials: Difficult, but Unquestionably Necessary.
- Authors
Markman, Maurie
- Abstract
The author asserts the necessity to increase the entry of the elderly into cancer clinical trials. It is pointed out that the elderly are in a reasonable position to benefit from the fruits of successful clinical research efforts. He discusses a phase 3 trial dealing with the management of a malignant condition in the elderly, which reveals the increasing importance the cancer research community has placed on directly addressing questions in the area.
