- Title
Plastics Pact: South Africa.
- Abstract
South Africa recently hosted a meeting of international Plastics Pacts, which are public-private partnerships aimed at addressing the global plastic crisis. The Plastics Pacts, which now include 14 countries, are working towards science-based targets to combat the environmental impact of plastics. The meeting in Cape Town allowed representatives from various countries to share ideas and collaborate on eliminating plastic pollution. South Africa, despite being an early adopter of the pact, still faces challenges in reducing its annual 2.4 million tons of plastic waste.
