- Title
Authenticity and the Myth of the Lyric Subject: The Summons of Olson's Legacy.
- Authors
Bond, Bruce
- Abstract
The article discusses the difficulty underlying the problem of representation and how the more reliable models that articulate difference gesture toward continuity. It cites Charles Olson's assertion of a simultaneous continuity and difference that creates contradiction and confusion in his attempt to construct a reliable model of the relationship between self and nature. It notes that a generous focus is what the projective poem and lyric will authenticate as well as music in general.
