This article focuses on the book "Reform of State-Owned Enterprises in China: Autonomy, Incentive and Competition," edited by Ron Duncan and Yiping Huang. The book sheds light on the reform of state-owned enterprises in China. Yiping Huang, Fang Cai and Ron Duncan provide an overview of China's state-owned enterprise reforms over the past twenty years and their impact. Ding Xuedong assesses the progress made and problems remaining in the reform of state-owned enterprises and the system of property rights in China.
