- Abstract
Introduction: People with Diabetes Mellitus are more susceptible to skin lesions, ulceration and foot infection. Objective: To analyze the treatments for diabetic foot in the Brazilian reality. Method: An integrative literature review was carried out by searching the PubMed / MEDLINE, Scopus, Web of Science and EMBASE databases, based on the method recommended in six stages and constructed according to the PRISMA methodology (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta- Analyzes). Two independent researchers performed the combination of Diabetic foot AND Therapeutics AND Brazil, in October 2020. Articles published between 2010 and 2020 were examined and information was extracted: database, author, year of publication, design research, treatment and main results. Results: Among the 257 articles initially identified, 15 were selected. Laser therapy (26.66%), followed by hyperbaric oxygen therapy (13.33%) were the forms of treatment most addressed. All forms of treatment for diabetic foot showed positive effects on the wound healing process, reducing its extension, devitalized tissue area and referred pain. Conclusion: laser therapy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy have been the main forms of treatment tested and implemented in the Brazilian reality by researchers and health professionals.
