- Abstract
The present work presents a novel preparation of bifacial silicon nanocrystals (Ts–Si Nano) as a substrate for the hybrid formation of Au-NPs/Si-Nano/Si/Si-Nano/Au-NPs. In this paper, the Ts–Si-Nano layers formed by photoelectrochemical etching (T-PEE) were distinctly formed; Using two identical diode laser beams with a fixed laser wavelength (650 nm) and a power of 40 mW. The properties of the Ts–Si-Nano layers formed by incorporating Au-NPs inside Si-Nano were modified by an easy-to-operate process and a rapid dipping process in a HAuCl4 solution to form a very efficient and controlled hybrid formation. Based on the deposited Au-NPs, the structural, optical, and morphological characteristics of the as-formed Ts–Si nanolayers and the hybrid configuration varied. The results show distinct organization from an identical Si-Nano configuration and a hybrid configuration with very small differences in the overall properties. This difference resulted from the different intensity of absorption of the laser photons during the etching path. The histogram of Au-NPs, hotspot areas, and specific surface area (S.S.A) of Au-NPs showed a well-controlled forming process after creating the Ts–Si-Nano layer. The resulting hybrid composition has unique properties that make it a promising option in fabricating sensors of different types.
