- Title
In the right direction: A deep learning tool for assessment of right ventricular function.
- Authors
Fell, Katherine N.; Bhave, Nicole M.
- Abstract
The article presents the discussion on importance of accurate assessment of right ventricular (RV) function in pulmonary hypertension (PH) patients. Topics include highlighting challenges with current methods and introducing a deep learning (DL) approach to improve RV function assessment via transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE); and predict MRI-derived RV ejection fraction (RVEF) from 2D TTE images, and the potential of DL-predicted RVEF to detect severe RV dysfunction.
