- Abstract
The article presents a study on the development of a carbon accounting method that can be used in agricultural practices in the U.S. The study assesses the net ecosystem carbon balance and net ecosystem exchange using a land cover data defined by MODIS of the National Aeronautics & Space Administration (NASA) and cropland data layer (CDL) of the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). It shows that the developed system offers means in the evaluation of carbon dynamics in croplands.
