The article offers information on a study related to common variable immune deficiency (CVID). Topics discussed include DNA sequencing of immunoglobulin heavy chain gene rearrangements; divergence of CVID B cells from the pro–B stage; and suggests possible explanations for the increased incidence of autoimmunity, immunodeficiency, and lymphoma CVID patients.
