- Abstract
The objective of this article is, first, to analyze the feminization of the registered workforce in the clothing manufacturing industry at the national level in the period 2003-2015. For this, quantitative data provided by the Observatorio de Empleo y Dinámica Empresarial (OEDE) in the Boletín de Estadísticas de Género y Mercado de Trabajo is analyzed. Its conclusión is that this industry continues to be feminized but with a downward trend. Second, according to the specific bibliography, the relationship of the migrant labor force with gender is investigated, since it is one of the characteristic actors in the sector. In the case of migrants, there is a greater presence of men than of women. By observing quantitative data, the direct and exclusive assimilation of work in the sewing with the womens can be questioned.
