- Authors
McCloskey, Deirdre N.; Ziliak, Stephen T.
- Abstract
The article presents a response on the argument of author Tom Mayer regarding the book "The Cult of Statistical Significance." The authors examine Mayer's claim regarding the existence of a debate in economics about significance testing. They also acknowledges Mayer's devotion to balance, leading him to criticize their works, however, they also assert the need for the author to read the historical evidence and the logic involved of their works to make the right judgment.
