- Title
There's More to Data Acquisition Than A/D.
- Authors
Judd, Bob
- Abstract
The article offers an analysis of how digital to analog (D/A), digital input/output and Component Object Model (COM) interfaces are integrated into the data acquisition (DAQ) system. Various specifications need to be considered when matching the D/A device to the application, which include number of channels, resolution, accuracy, monotonicity, output type, output drive, output range, output update rate, output slew rate and output glitch energy. When it comes to digital inputs, issues such as input type, input impedance, input range, and sample or update rate, must be considered.
