- Abstract
We report here the first record of a colony of the Brazilian Free-tailed Bat, Tadarida brasiliensis (I. Geoffroy, 1824), in a mine located in central Chihuahua, Mexico. This record represents the most central point of the distribution of the species in the state and is located in the Central Valleys biome. We highlight the importance of recognizing and preserving this mine as a refuge for the largest bat colony reported in the state of Chihuahua.
