Pay-freeze proposal will cost government dear.
- Authors
Scott, Graham
- Abstract
The author reflects on a potential pay freeze for nurses which may be proposed by the British government in 2013. He suggests that a survey of nurses conducted by the journal "Nursing Standard" found that in 2013 many nurse are forced to work additional shifts or more than one job to make ends meet and that nearly half of all British nurses have considered changing professions. He suggests that the government's approach to pay may be understandable but cannot be sustained for long.
