- Abstract
In this study it is aimed to learn the levels of participation into the principles of democracy and make the prospective teacher candidates studying at Gazi University, Faculty of Education evaluate the in-class behaviors of both their instructors and their own ones with respect of a more democratic class atmosphere. This study is a descriptive field study. The study was applied on randomly chosen 558 teacher candidates who were studying at Gazi University, Faculty of Education in 2008-2009 educational year. In the study five grid Likert scale was used. The reasonable level while testing the levels was taken as 0,05. In the analysis of the gathered results the mean, frequency, percentage, standard deviation were used as well as the t-test according to the variants presumed. According to the findings of the study, a reasonable difference was seen on teacher candidates' highly rated participation into the principles of democracy and their evaluating the in-class behaviors of both their instructors and their own ones
