- Abstract
The article describes the case of a goat that suffered from dystocia or difficult birth. Topics discussed include the most common cause of dystocia in dairy animals, the symptoms exhibited by the goat, including straining, restlessness and moderate anorexia, and the occurrence of dystocia and stillbirth associated more with posterior rather than in anterior presentation. Also mentioned is the veterinarian's claim that iodine deficiency is more likely the reason for the stillbirth in this case.
