- Abstract
The book "A Fascist Dictator. Adolf Hitler - Biography" by Wolfgang Schieder describes the life story of Adolf Hitler and compares him to Benito Mussolini. The author argues that after the failed coup of 1923, Hitler refrained from violent solo actions and sought allies in the conservative-nationalist camp. He describes the first one and a half years of Hitler's government as fascist and as a "political dual rule". However, after the death of President Paul von Hindenburg, Hitler was able to remove the restrictions on his power and establish a fascist-totalitarian regime. The author emphasizes that despite his ideological principles, Hitler was able to act flexibly and pragmatically. The text criticizes a book about Hitler that contains many errors and recommends the publisher to release an improved version.
