- Title
The sterling unsecured loan market during 2006-08: insights from network theory.
- Authors
Wetherilt, Anne; Zimmerman, Peter; Soramäki, Kimmo
- Abstract
The article analyzes the unsecured sterling overnight money market during the period of financial crisis from 2007 to 2008. It suggests that liquidity management was made more straightforward by the changes to the reserve regime in September 2007 because of the less strict-end-of-day targets of the banks in Great Britain. It also stresses that banks' establishment of more funding relationships implies their attempt to minimize funding liquidity when it comes to concerns about counterpart risk.
