The article discusses the findings of a paper on affine term structure models for the foreign exchange risk premium. The risk premia estimates generated by two models are numerically quite different althought exhibiting a qualitatively similar time profile. Both models fail to replicate the forward discount anomaly. The estimated models exhibit virtually no forecasting power for fore exchange rate depreciation.
