- Abstract
This article discusses an alternative approach to treating large parotid duct stones. The traditional method of using sialoendoscopy may not be effective for larger stones, leading to more invasive procedures such as a trans-facial approach or parotidectomy. The new technique involves intra-oral parotid duct exploration and ductoplasty, which has been successful in removing stones and resolving symptoms with minimal morbidity. The article provides a detailed description of the surgical technique and reports positive outcomes for patients who underwent the procedure. This approach can be considered as a primary treatment for large and impacted stones, as a secondary procedure after failed sialoendoscopy, or as an alternative to a trans-facial approach.
