- Abstract
The aim of this study was to theoretically and practically explore the relationship between perceived school climate, socio-emotional health and social and emotional competence among adolescents. It was determined which factors of the perceived school climate predicted socio-emotional health and social and emotional competence among adolescents. The participants of this study were 310 adolescents, aged 12 to 15 years (mean age M = 13.76; SD = 0.87), from which 159 (51.29%) were boys and 151 (48.71%) - girls. For the research of perceived school climate the School Climate Questionnaire (Zullig et al., 2010) was used. To measure the socio-emotional health, the Social Emotional Health Survey - Secondary, SEHS-S (Furlong et al., 2014) was used, and to measure the social and emotional competence, the Social and Emotional Competencies Questionnaire (SEC-Q, Zych et al., 2018), was used and adapted within the framework of this study. The results of the study showed positive correlations between the factors of perceived school climate and the socio-emotional health and social and emotional competence.
