- Abstract
This article contains a brief overview of the work done by Professor T Padmanabhan in the area of cosmology and large-scale structures. Padmanabhan, or Paddy as he was fondly addressed by students and colleagues, worked in diverse areas, from quantum gravity to dark matter. This article focuses on his work in cosmology and large-scale structures. The majority of this work was done during 1985–2010. The major topics touched upon included astrophysical constraints on models of dark matter, statistical mechanics of gravitating systems, studies of the early universe and inflation, gravitational lensing, formation of large-scale structure, models for the inter-galactic medium, estimation of cosmological parameters, etc. We will discuss some of these topics in this article.
