- Abstract
The article focuses on a study using multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) showed that the number of visualized and quantified central airways referred to as the total airway count (TAC) is significantly reduced by 19 percent in individuals with mild or moderate chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and associated with longitudinal lung function decline; and also mentions the lack of association in the end-stage COPD lungs is most likely related to power size issues.
