In this article the author focuses on the issue concerning the ban of animal testing on cosmetics ingredients in Europe which overrides the policy of Registration, Evaluation, and Authorization of Chemicals (REACH). The author cites the comment of Christopher Flower of Cosmetic, Toiletry and Perfumery Association (CTPA) stressing the compatibility of animal test bans in the European Cosmetics Directive and the testing requirements for chemicals in REACH.
