- Abstract
The article focuses on Section 48 of the United States Code which makes the creation, sale, or possession of depictions of animal cruelty a criminal act. Information is provided on how the United States Third Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Section 48 as unconstitutional which prompted U.S. President Barack Obama to sign the Animal Crush Video Prohibition Act of 2010 (also known as the Crush Act). An overview of crush videos and how they exploit the torture of animals for the entertainment of individuals is presented.
