The article presents the criteria developed by the Te Henga section of the Nurses' Marxist Union of an expert and excellent nurse in New Zealand. The criteria requires that an expert nurse is one who has had less contact with patients for longer than other nurses, employed in an educational institution, employed in a managerial position and has conducted a research.
