- Authors
Wilson Jr, Lloyd T.
- Abstract
The article examines whether the proposals for federal regulation of mortgage brokers in the U.S. are desirable. It describes the direct regulation of mortgage brokers at the state level. Information is presented on the quantitative, qualitative and experiential bases for the wide recognition of the desirability of regulation of mortgage brokers. A comparison of the federal proposals for mortgage broker regulation with the existing state-level broker licensing statutes is provided. It outlines the reasons for the undesirability of the federal proposals.
