- Abstract
This article, titled "Sensitive, Sensory Science," explores the use of poetry to engage students in scientific observation and sensory experiences. The author suggests reading a poem about walking on different textures and acting it out with students. They also encourage students to share their own texture memories and discuss the difference between scientific observation and opinion. The article provides additional resources for further exploration, including a website by Sarah Grace Tuttle, a sensory trail at Letchworth State Park, and information on designing sensory gardens. The article concludes with a poem by Sarah Grace Tuttle titled "Feeling the Ground," which describes the author's sensory experiences while walking on different surfaces.
