- Abstract
The article discusses the status of science in general education at the college level. A study has found that less number of students opt for work in the various sciences apart from the science requirement. The subject has seen the steep decline in recent years in its registration. Many colleges are taking forceful steps to reverse the situation. One of the reasons of this sudden steep is shaking confidence of college teachers on the subject. A question was asked from college and university teachers that what contributions science can make to the students of general education. More than 80 percent joined hands together and said the subject enhance the ability to do critical thinking. It has been observed that people who have hardcore science background think more critically than those who belong to general education. Teaching of science is an art if observed closely. The college committee is taking decision to make some reformulations in the subject.
