- Abstract
The article predicts the success of college students in physical sciences. The courses of physical sciences, including chemistry, biology and physics, are taken by the students for pre-professional training in medicine, dentistry and engineering. It is, therefore, important for both students and college administration to analyze the pros and cons of a physical science course for study in the college. The article analyzes data related to students who entered the University of Buffalo between 1925-1929. For the analysis, the New York State high-school-Regents grades were also gathered. The scores and sub-test grades for the American Council Psychological Examination for High School Graduates and College Freshmen were also secured as standard scores. The data shows prediction correlation for the average performance in all general science subjects during the first two years of college attendance.
