- Abstract
In the article, the authors discusses the importance of implementing telemedicine systems in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Topics include the forecast that 33% of Iran's population will be more than 60 years old by 2050, their susceptibility to develop age-related chronic diseases like Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, and chronic respiratory disease, and the conducted randomized controlled trial to assess the effect of home telemonitoring systems on quality of life, health and medical care costs.
