- Abstract
This article discusses the reviews on the teaching load of teachers. The U.S. Office of Education reported a study of loads in high schools in representative cities in eight sections of the United States. In general, the lightest loads were found in mechanical drawing, shop and domestic art and the heaviest is in music and physical training. In the pupil-teacher ratio, the Educational Research Service of the Department of Superintendence and Research Division of the National Educational Association reported the average daily attendance per teaching position in the schools of the United States for certain years are 25.0 during 1925-26, 25.1 during 1927-28, 25.2 during 1929-30, and 25.5 during 1930-31.
