- Abstract
The quality of management apparently to determines the performance of French firms and their values. The presence of dominant shareholders can improve supervision of management and enhance operational results. Therefore, it is important to examine the relationship between management, performance and the role of the stock market in the protection of shareholders and in the valuation of R & D activity. Among other things, the study attempts a comparison between France and the emerging markets. A major finding of the researcher is that R&D-intensive firms tend to outperform those with little or no R&D. This analysis reveals that the concentration of equity among institutional investors is positively impacted by corporate R & D spending. There seems to be a positive relation between R & D intensity, the percentage of institutional holdings, management, value and performance.
