- Title
The Anatomy of a Test Method.
- Authors
Thiry, Maria C.
- Abstract
The article discusses how the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) develop a test method. According to the article, AATCC test methods are used to test different aspects of a garment's, fabric's, or textile's performance regarding color or the wet processing such as finishes or colorfastness. Every idea for a test method is checked in the AATCC Technical Manual to be sure a similar test doesn't exist. If there is no existing test the staff forwards it to a test method development committee. The decision making, development, and voting processes by the AATCC for a test method are discussed.
