- Abstract
A new approach is presented for the integral-equation analysis of printed antennas and arrays. It is based on the definition of multiresolution vector functions with properties similar to those of the scalar wavelets; in particular, they are both spatially and spectrally localized. The resulting impedance matrix shows a good conditioning that allows its sparsification and the use of iterative methods for the solution of the linear system. Numerical results for the case of electromagnetically coupled square patches are presented. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 23: 49–51, 1999.
