- Abstract
This article discusses a study which provided ecological observations on Arianta aethiops or Helicidae, a snail found in the South Carpathian mountains in Romania. The study examined shell and reproductive characteristics, including the shell's breadth, height and shape. It found that the snail has a depressed globular shell with convex whorls. The study also covered population density and activity and resting sites of the snail. It showed that the snail rested attached to vertical rock surfaces.
