- Abstract
Purpose: Recently, many countries supply their LNG needs by benefiting from FSRU ships. The aim of this study is to determine the criteria to be considered in the FSRU ship selection problem, which is not found in the academic literature, to calculate the importance weights of these criteria and to investigate the causal relationships between them. Methodology: The criteria were determined by conducting a group focus study with three people who could be reached from a group of experts, who are very few on the subject, and Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods (AHP, DEMATEL, SWARA and FUCOM) were used to calculate the importance weights of these criteria and to determine the causal relationships between them. Findings: According to the analysis, REGAS capacity, storage capacity and costs were determined as the most important criteria. Furthermore costs, delivery time, tank type and vessel draft criteria were determined as receiver and impact criteria. In addition to these it has been found that REGAS capacity and storage capacity criteria affect both each other and costs in terms of FSRU selection. Originality: There is no study found, in which the criteria for the selection of FSRU ships were determined, the importance weights were calculated and the relations between the criteria were examined, in the relevant literature.
