- Abstract
The article focuses on the discovery of Acropora palmata at the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary, Texas. The U.S. National Marine Fisheries Service has considered these corals as endangered under the U.S. Endangered Species Act. Acropora, recently has been found for the first time in new locations, including the Atlantic coast of Florida. The colony which was found has an encrusting basal plate and one small branch. The second colony was found at the East Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary.
