- Abstract
The article examines the exercise of rights of navigation after the adoption of the Third United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS III) on April 30, 1982. Some of the key provisions of UNCLOS III include the establishment of certain zones of jurisdiction and special regimes for international straits and archipelagos. The provisions concerning Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) which was referred to as high seas are discussed. The impact of UNCLOS III to nonparties to the Law of the Sea Convention is also discussed.
