- Authors
COOPER, FRANK RUDY
- Abstract
The article presents an application of the literature on masculinity to the field of criminal procedure. Particular attention is given to the question of how does masculinity affect policing? This question is significant because male police officers have the power to force others to acknowledge their masculinity while they simultaneously do their jobs. The author states that officers may exaggerate their masculinity with civilians. Article topics include patterns of law enforcement, gender aspects of racial profiling, and hypermasculinity.
