- Abstract
The article focuses on the ecological and biological account of the Araceae family in Trinidad. In this study, a classification of life forms is proposed and elaborated as a preliminary to a description of the status of the Araceae family within the vegetation in the island. The proposed classifications are plant terrestrial, plant epiphytic, plant climbing and plant floating. Findings indicate that the Araceae family is found throughout the island in lowlands and mountains alike and are most abundant in wetter parts. It is noted that the Araceae family includes terrestrial plants, one aquatic, epiphytes and herbaceous climbers.
