- Abstract
It is assumed that vacuum transmission lines in the self-magnetic insulation regime feature a limiting current, whereby the trajectories of electrons at the wave front arriving at the anode are tangent to the surface. Under this assumption, the law of energy conservation in the system provides an equation for the relativistic factor γm corresponding to the voltage at the outer boundary of the electron layer that can be used for determining the main characteristics of a transmission line in the self-magnetic insulation regime. © 2005 Pleiades Publishing, Inc.
